April: The Tale of Gaia

April: The Tale of Gaia (lyrics)

Date: 2025

There was a woman

Who walked for miles and miles

She walked past the sun, the moon and Jupiter

And all the stars in the southern sky

She walked and walked and walked and walked

She met all the peculiar things

She saw the most beautiful beings

And she felt all their pain

She collected stories

She collected stones

She collected love

She collected everything she should find

She took

GAIA - GAIA - GAIA

Then one day she got tired

So she sat down by the willow tree

And she cried and cried and cried and cried

And she couldn’t get up

She was stuck there

Glued there

Loved it there

She said, “This is home”

So she stayed by the willow tree

And started to plant seeds

She planted here and planted there

And she watered them with her tears

And it grew and grew and grew and grew and grew

Ten feet tall

She gave

GAIA - GAIA - GAIA

Then one day she noticed something crawl out from the grass

And it stood upright

It had two legs

And two arms

And it looked to the sky

It moved and danced and jumped and breathed

And wow

Everything looked so easy

So she gave and gave and gave and gave

All that she had

And it took

And it took and took and took and took

And it chopped down a tree

And it took the berries

And it took

But she was happy

Because she saw the light in it

She saw the light and love and beauty

Of a thousand stars in it

So she gave

She gave and gave and gave and gave

It took, it took, it took, it took

GAIA - GAIA - GAIA

And then one day it wanted to take her away

It wanted to take her to the sun along with everyone

And she gave and gave and gave and gave

For she saw the light in it

She saw the love in it

She saw the soul in it

She saw herself in it

She gave

She gave, she gave, she gave

And it took
