As a soul gets born, lost, tossed and turned all around in a lifetime on Earth, there comes a moment when their inner strength, their inner grit starts to take hold. The fourth single, “I’ll Still Hold Up” is just that song. It’s strong and powerful with just a little edge of rock ‘n’ roll.
While most of the songs on this album where a result of her overfunded crowd-funding campaign with legendary Boston studio, Plaid Dog Recording, this song was a collaboration outside of the studio. Stokes co-wrote the song with Hannah Johnson and produced by Analog MP3 to bring the vision of this song to life.
For the Tomboys
"This song is the epitome of the long car ride, windows down, hair out, scream-singing at the top of your lungs and just feeling tough as sh*t! This for that moment when someone tries to take your power away and you remember they do not have your permission to do so. It’s for every inner (and outer) tomboy!" Stokes exclaims.

Word on the Street
"It captures that exact feeling of letting go and refusing to be defined by anything that tries to hold you back."
"The track delivers a message of resilience and self-belief, combining a driving, rock-leaning edge with an uplifting, anthemic feel."
"Stokes sounds extremely sincere, and the performance has a rawness and an almost filmic quality. You can hear the tension between being weak and being strong, like every line is pushing back on what it’s allowed to do."
"At the centre of it all is Stokes’ voice, and it’s nothing short of magnetic. She balances grit with warmth, power with vulnerability, delivering each line with a conviction that feels deeply lived-in. There’s a defiant clarity in the way she sings, especially on lines like “You can burn me down, I’ll still hold up”, that turns the track into a line in the sand."
"Strength in motion, turning struggle into something you can shout along to."
“I’ll Still Hold Up” also serves as a key piece of Stokes’ upcoming albumThe Tale of Gaia, a project centered on humanity, connection, and the experience of being alive in a complex world. Within that larger narrative, this single stands out as a defining moment—the point where struggle transforms into strength.
"From those ashes rises “I’ll Still Hold Up,” a psychedelic-leaning anthem co-written with Hannah Johnsonand produced by Analog MP3.It carries the swagger of resilience, channeling a scrappy, tomboy energy that refuses to stay down."
